An Important Message from the Barossa Valley Chocolate Family


Barossa Valley Chocolate Company and Vineyard Road Cellar Door are prioritising the health and well-being of our visitors and staff during the COVID-19 outbreak. Our family wanted to keep you up to date with the steps we have taken to ensure the wellbeing of you, our customer and our team.


At our chocolate production facility in the Barossa Valley, we have always implemented high standards of health and hygiene practice.  In the current climate, we are taking extra measures. This has and will flow on to the other production and retail parts of the business on the complex.


While we remain open, we are taking the following precautionary measures to further reduce risk:


  • added hand sanitisers at the entrance and in Benni’s Cafe for customers to use;

  • removed self-service chocolate samples at our entrance but are still offering free tastings – just ask one of our friendly team;

  • reinforced cleaning regimes in the cellar door, chocolate kitchen, café kitchen, café, retail chocolate and gelateria to go ‘above and beyond’ to ensure our family friendly areas maintain their sparkly and thorough cleanliness;

  • our team incorporating additional cleaning throughout the day from sanitising door handles, tables/chairs, etc in our cafe and all of our bathrooms;

  • our staff, in the back of house, increasing sanitised processes in the kitchens, staff areas and storage areas with extra vigilant hygiene processes.


We are monitoring the situation daily according to best practice advice from Federal and SA governments as well as state and national health services.  Their policy of Wash, Wipe, Cover… Don’t infect another will remain our key for now and for the future.

It’s only natural at these times to retreat and stop doing the things we love. However, it’s important to remember local businesses need your support - our staff, their families and trusted suppliers are all dependent on you continuing to visit us to have some fun.


We’re doing all we can to ensure your time with us is both safe and enjoyable.  We look forward to welcoming you as we prepare for our First birthday and Easter celebrations.These measures equally apply to our sister company, Fleurieu Chocolate Company and Vineyard Road Cellar door at Langhorne Creek.
