How The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company Came To Life

When developing the concept for the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, we wanted to create a place filled with delicious chocolates, but also a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself. To make sure our company offers you the best chocolate in the world, we have done extensive research.

In the years leading up to the opening of Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, our CEO Chris Day and his wife Sandy travelled 100,000km around the world to sample the best chocolate experiences - from Florence in Italy to Daintree in Australia - to draw inspiration for their chocolate dream in the Barossa Valley.

The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company has been inspired by some of the most iconic chocolate destinations across the globe from Bariloche in Argentina, to Napa Valley in the USA and the chocolate line in Bruges, Belgium.

During the course of developing the company, Chris and Sandy took a chocolate making course to learn as much as they could about chocolate to provide the best products to the customers. After appointing their head chocolatier from Melbourne, they wanted to be able to talk to her about chocolate and understand the creation process!

We know our chocolate will live up to your standards, as we have travelled the world making sure it lives up to ours! Plus, during our creation process, over 2,500 South Australians taste-tested our chocolate to help us choose the final product that we produce – so it really IS South Australia’s chocolate, chosen by South Australians for South Australians.
