Is entry free?

Yes, entry is free to visit our chocolate factory.

Are you open on public holidays?

Yes, we are open every public holiday from 10am - 5pm except Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Where are you located?

We are located in the heart of the Barossa Valley at 64 Burings Rd, Tanunda, South Australia. Just a short 1 hour drive from Adelaide.

What are your trading hours?

We are open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am - 5pm, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Benni's Cafe is open 10am - 5pm for coffee, cakes, drinks and desserts with the full lunch menu from 12pm - 3pm.

Do you do accept group bookings?

Yes, we accept group bookings for our Cafe and Vineyard Road Cellar Door for up to 12 people online.

For groups larger than 12, please contact us at to discuss options. This includes for bus groups visiting the chocolate shop.

Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, for food safety reasons, dogs are not allowedwithin the venue, however, they are welcome to sit on the Deck or lawns. To access the Deck, walk around the water feature from the carpark and access the Deck from the Western lawns.

Dogs must be leashed and supervised at all times.

Do you have outdoor seating?

Yes, we have a dining area on our deck overlooking the beautiful water. Enjoy a delicious meal from theCafé or a glass of wine in a relaxing setting. There is also some seating outside the complex near the entrance, perfect to sit and enjoy an ice cream!


Do you offer free samples?

Yes, there will be some free samples available, with the selection changing daily. For those wishing to try our full chocolate range, we recommend one of our pairing experiences available in our Vineyard Road Cellar Door (wine and non-alcoholic chocolate pairings available). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, samples may not be available based on the health guidelines at the time of your visit.

What kind of chocolate do you have?

Our range of chocolates include white, milk, 56% dark, 70% dark, and ruby chocolate that are made into over 250 products in our kitchen.

There are chocolates from SIngle Origin, with five countries internationally and Australia's only source of cocoa beans from Daintree, Queensland.

We also have sugar- and dairy-free chocolate ranges.

Do you cater to dietary requirements?

Yes, we can cater to most dietary requirements.

We have chocolate that is sugar- and dairy-free. We make chocolate and other food items without gluten and nuts, but as it is all made in a commercial kitchen, there may be traces.

In addition, some items in our café are also sugar- and dairy-free, please ask our friendly staff in the café for more information.

Our café has a large range of milk alternatives, including soy, almond and lactose-free.

Our café caters to a wide range of dietaries, with gluten free, vegan and nut-free items available..

If you have a specific allergy or concern please contact us ahead of time at so we can discuss suitable alternatives.

What allergens are there?

Due to the manufacturing process at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, there may be trace elements of gluten and nuts in all products made on-site.


Am I able to reserve a table in the café?

Yes, please click here to book online. While we will do what we can to accomodate walk-ins, it is safer to book online to reserve your place.

What hours does your café serve food?

Our Cafe Kitchen is open for all-day dining from 10.00am (9.00am weekends) until 3.30pm. Coffee & Cake service continues until closing time at 5.00pm.

What is the menu for the Café?

Ou rCafe serves a delicious all-day dining menu of locally sourced food, that is both fancy and fun, to enjoy on our stunning deck overlooking the water.

Where possible, ingredients are locally sourced from Barossa Valley and surrounding districts.

Cellar Door

Do you do wine tastings?

Yes, we have a fully functioning cellar door offering Vineyard Road wines where you can purchase wine, enjoy a wine tasting or experience one of our wine and chocolate pairings. Vineyard Road specialises in premium estate-grown Barossa Valley wines, with some featuring fruit sourced from vineyards visible from the cellar door. For more information, click here.

Can you make bookings for the wine and chocolate pairing?

Yes, bookings are recommended for wine and chocolate pairings, particularly on our busier days. Please click here to book online. While we accommodate walk-ins where possible, it is safer to book to ensure your place.

Do you offer wine flights, guided tastings or chocolate pairings?

Are you able to cater for children's birthday parties and events?

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Can I bring my own cake or bottle of wine?

We have a range of affordable wines and our chocolatiers can create a custom gelato birthday cake for you with 7 days notice. Contact one of our friendly staff for more details.

Do you allow people to bring their own picnics?

We have a range of affordable and delicious food and wine options available at our café, so we ask our visitors to please avoid bringing their own picnics.
